Return to the Family farm
—
In 2017, we decided it was time to come home to the Family Farm. Our two girls are growing up as the Fifth Generation on this property.
We planted 100 hop plants consisting of 5 different varietals in the spring of 2018. A year later, we planted an additional 100 plants, adding 4 more varietals. We currently farm Cascade, Nugget, Crystal, Saaz72, Sterling, Willamette, Mount Rainier, and Comet. Each type serves a different purpose - some are great for brewing certain beers, and others are perfect for floral use in arrangements and garlands for events and weddings. In the fall, you can find us hosting Wreath Making events on the farm, harvesting for breweries, & harvesting for floral markets.
We are a Salmon Safe® Certified Farm, and do not spray any chemicals. Instead, we utilize and spray things like compost teas & kelp extract to make the plants stronger, we bring in beneficial bugs to combat aphids and spider mites, and we plant beneficials all over our farm to bring in and sustain local fauna. We are dedicated to sustaining the ground and soil we live on and depend for future generations to enjoy and thrive.
